Class Descriptions
Hatha Yoga practice strives to balance mind and body via physical postures and exercises (asanas), controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation.
Classic Yoga poses taught with focus on correct alignment and precise action in the body.
Iyengar Yoga is characterized by great attention to detail and precise focus on body alignment. Iyengar pioneered the use of “props” such as cushions, benches, blocks, straps, and even sand bags, which function as aids allowing beginners to experience asanas more easily and fully than might otherwise be possible without several years of practice. Props also allow tired or ill students to enjoy the benefits of many asanas via fully “supported” methods requiring less muscular effort.
Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga that uses props and longer holds in supported postures, to bring ease and relaxation to the body and mind. Through specific sequencing, this practice may restore balance to the autonomic nervous system, and create certain physiological responses that support your overall health.
All classes are mixed levels
Mixed level classes give a solid introduction to yoga for beginners and gears students to progress further in their practice.
