This is a question that could take a lifetime to answer. Most simply, yoga, an ancient practice, is the union of body, mind and spirit.

Do something each day. Initially, there is a great benefit to completing 10–15 classes in 30 days. This will give you a solid physical and intellectual base from which to launch your practice. After that, a consistent practice of 2–3 classes per week will help achieve the changes you desire over time. For life-changing results, come 4–6 times per week.

A consistent yoga practice can help to create change: improved flexibility, increased strength, balance and emotional well-being, deeper relaxation, sounder sleep and relief from stress and pain.

Beginning students are welcome to join any of the classes on the Beginner Class Schedule. These classes are designed for students who are new to yoga. Detailed instructions and modifications are given in these classes.

Yoga is for everyone! Please inform your teacher regarding any concerns, injuries or conditions before class. Our teachers can modify the poses to help you practice safely and intelligently.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome.

Props are tools that make yoga more accessible for everyone—no matter your age, physical condition, or experience level. They include items like mats, blankets, belts, blocks, and chairs, all designed to support your body and help you safely explore each pose.

Using props can make postures more comfortable, encourage better alignment, and allow the mind to relax—so you can fully enjoy the benefits of your practice.

Our studio provides all the props you’ll need for classes or private sessions at no extra cost. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer!

Come with an open heart and mind.

We provide all the props. You may bring your own yoga mat if you prefer. Please be on time. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow time to change clothes, sign in and ensure a space in the classroom.

Be comfortable. Wear loose clothing that allows for free movement. Yoga is practiced in bare feet. Please do not wear perfume, scented products or heavy jewelry.

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. We suggest waiting an hour after a light meal and a few hours after a heavy meal.

Absolutely not! Yoga is beneficial for people with tight muscles and joints. Yoga strives to find a balance between strength and flexibility. Through attention to correct alignment and the use of props, stiff muscles are safely stretched and aligned.

You can begin yoga just as you are. There’s no perfect shape, size, or fitness level required to start. Our Beginning Yoga Classes are a safe, supportive space for all bodies and backgrounds. Poses can be adapted to meet your individual needs, making yoga accessible whether you’re brand new, returning after a break, or working with physical limitations.

That said, since our studio is located upstairs, you’ll need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs to attend in-person classes.

With regular practice, many new students notice a boost in energy, improved mobility, and an overall sense of well-being—even after just a few sessions.

Asana is the Sanskrit term for pose or posture.

• Please come 10-15 minutes early and sign in.
• Please leave your shoes outside of the studio.
• Please speak softly before, during and after class.
• If you are new to a class, please introduce yourself to the teacher and
  inform them of any injuries or special needs you may have.
• Please refrain from entering or leaving the studio during the opening
  meditation or the final relaxation. Inform the teacher before class if you
  need to leave early.
• Please do not wear perfume, scented products or heavy jewelry.
• Modest dress is encouraged.
